Online training for judges and others who handle domestic violence cases. It covers issues common to domestic violence cases. There are three virtual court training sites similar to this. All are written in ASP.net with some javascript, and housed on the Florida State Courts servers, not available to the general public. This course is reproduced with the kind permission of the Florida State Courts.
The courses are accessible and feature a Windows domain log in, videos, quizzes, case documents, a final test which is scored and saved for those taking the course for CLE credit, a survey and a certificate of completion available after the student finishes all sections.
Along with the extensive course material, the site contains quizzes and a saved essay test for each module, the ability for a registered user to track their progress through the course and return automatically to the last page visited, and the ability to use the course for CJE credits. State organizations are able to add state specific content to the course. Most of the course material and resource links, as well as user progress information are stored in a MySQL database.
While working at UNM, Coyotech's owner re-wrote this site from ASP.net to PHP (for hosting purposes), finished and extended it (keeping the original design, but creating a new template), and now maintains it.
The Findajudge.com directory was originally built with a proprietary directory whose key scripts were encrypted and could not be (legally) modified. When the site's owner came to Coyotech to make some additions and modifications to the site, we first looked at existing solutions to see if something else might do the job. However, none quite fit what was needed.
Consequently Coyotech built the directory in PHP from the ground up, incorporating the owner's brand and any needed features, including an online payment portal to PayPal with the ability to send and receive payment notifications (IPN) that would update a member's payment status in the directory's database automatically and send a notice to the owner. The site uses AJAX and PHP for displaying and updating member profiles and for searches.
The Belair Inn is a family run motel located in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. This web site is a simple PHP and javascript site with the addition of a custom reservation page and information about the area for visitors. It was created quickly, over a weekend, and is hosted on Coyotech's servers. This format is very good in that it's flexible: the design can be changed easily to fit each business, it is easy to extend and customize and quick to build.
This site was created for the Florida Supreme Court Office of Court Improvement in order to put commonly used family court forms online and help users in filling them out correctly. It is an ASP.net C# application which uses AJAX and the IText Sharp PDF creation application. While the project does not use a databases: none of the user's information is stored, the financial forms do a great deal of calculation and are rather complicated. The pages use ASP.net and AJAX to make the forms as intuitive, easy to use and error proof as possible.
The forms application was written by Coyotech's owner while working at UNM, and Coyotech currently maintains and updates the web site, answers user questions, and maintains the web server where the forms are hosted.
